End Users

Users might not have time to finish an awareness course right away. They have the ability to re-schedule the training, but you can also create a login page for your end users where they can access their custom training links at any time without needing to re-send an awareness email.
Recipients and End-Users refer to the same group. When you import a user into Lucy, they become a Recipient. If they gain access to the End-User Portal, they are classified as End-Users.
You can enable the portal under "Base Settings" within the campaign page:
The appearance of the portal can be configured under Users -> Enduser Portal Settings:
Here is an example of the portal view from an end-user perspective:
LUCY automatically creates end-user login profiles for each user marked to receive awareness training within a campaign provided that the campaign has "End-User Profiles Enabled" on the Base Settings.
Users can be created:
Automatically through the Autoupdate LDAP users feature. Import Enduser role users from an AD group. More info here.
Manually through the import from LDAP in Administrative Users Settings. More info here.
The login is created under the directory /user/
on your server. For example, if your server address is https://my.lucyserver.com
, the end-user e-learning portal login will be https://my.lucyserver.com/user/
.
There are three options for granting access to the end-user portal:
Attach the password to the email
Send a password reset link (link variable: %user-password-reset%
)
Use SSO (link variable: %user-login-url%
)
The default method to grant a user access to the End-User portal is via a password attachment. This method can be used in production; however, we recommend considering a Password Reset or SSO authentication for better security practices.
Enable "End-User Profiles" in Base Settings.
On the Base Settings, set "Send Credentials Type" to "Plain text Password"
Ensure the Awareness Campaign is configured to send emails.
Since credentials will be sent as an attachment with the first awareness email, inform the user of the process in the email. Also, adapt the link to the End-User portal with the End-User portal login link variable placeholder.
Navigate to Campaign -> Configuration -> Awareness Settings
Select your Awareness Scenario and navigate to the Message Settings.
Here you can craft the email to match your company branding and policies.
See our guide on Awareness Template Customization
In this example, the user is informed of the Training Portal and the link variable (%user-profile-link%
) to the portal is injected for the "Log in" word:
See our reference article on Dynamic Awareness Variables
Once your template is configured and the campaign is launched, the first awareness email will include the password attachment.
The password attachment is sent only once, with the first awareness campaign when End-User Profiles are enabled. Users will not receive credentials as an attachment again.
If a user needs to change their password, they can select "Forgot Password" on the End-User login page.
To successfully send password credentials from your Lucy server, ensure you have a system notification email set in the Advanced Settings. This email address must have the relevant DNS records (SPF/MX) set up and pointed to your Lucy server.
As an administrator, you can update a user's password directly in your Lucy administrative panel. Navigate to Users -> End Users, search for the user by name or email, and select their profile.
Select "Change User Details"
Select "Change Password"
The login credentials for accessing the End-User portal are created and sent in an awareness message. There is no way to resend these credentials to an existing user, but there are several alternatives:
Resetting the User Password Through the End-User Portal
After logging in, the user can:
Change user details (password, contact information)
View training history (list of trainings they have participated in)
View training score (Quiz Score indicates the number of correct answers)
Compare score with others (Average Over All Users)
Create training certificates (only for successfully completed trainings)
Access reputation profile (with a badge and star rating)
